Hey, contributor!
The WCUS Contributors squad would love to tell the world about your experience!
It’s tempting to think of code when we think of contributing.
But as you already know:
The contributing picture is way bigger.
It takes a lot more than code to get a WordPress release out the door, to keep the event calendars full, to help users learn. And to do all that in hundreds of languages that are not English (or PHP!)
As you already know.
So it’s high time the WordPress community knew about you:
- Why do you contribute?
- Have your reasons changed over time?
- What got you involved then—and keeps you involved now?
- How did you get started?
- Did you try a few things early before you found your team, or did you find your fit straight away?
- Did you think about it for a while and then take a step at a time? Or did you decide in a flash and jump right in?
- And what advice would you give a person who’s just starting to think about getting involved?
More than 42% of the web runs on WordPress, and that number gets bigger every day. That’s the work of our contributors in every area, in every language, on every team.
That’s because of you.
As you already know.
