What You Need To Know If Applying
How long should your presentation be?
We are planning the following session formats:
- Long talks – 40 minutes in total, broken down to around 30 mins for the talk & 10 mins for questions.
- Lightning talks – 15 minutes each, grouped with related topics.
We will have two tracks. Content will take up 40 minutes of each hour, which gives attendees 20 minutes after each session to switch between tracks, grab a cup of coffee, and chat with other attendees and sponsors.
When reviewing speaker applications, the selection will be anonymous, but we will take into account your previous speaking experience. If you haven’t already, there is still time to speak at your local WordCamp or meetup to gain more practice.
The Call for Speakers will be open until January 7th—make sure that you send in your application in time.

Tips for Submission
- Spellcheck, check for placeholder text and use correct capitalization for WordPress and WordCamp.
- Please submit no more than three proposals. Multiple submissions are definitely not required but will help your chances.
- Your talk title, description, and a short bio will be copied as-is.
- The WordCamp AV form is required for speaker submissions. You can check the A/V Release form here. Later in the process, we will ask you to sign and take a picture or scan and send us.
Tips for a Great Speaker Application
- Use your real, full name (first and last).
- A clear talk title is better than a clever one—don’t make attendees work to figure out what your talk is about.
- Enter a detailed presentation description. Descriptions that are vague, unhelpful, or incomplete may not be considered—explain what attendees will learn or get out of the session.
- Submit your proposed topic title, description, and your bio in the third person, as if it were the final version to be printed or posted on the website.
- Your talk should be directly related to WordPress, or immediately applicable and relevant to our audience.
