WordPress Meetups are local, in-person gathering of like-minded people.
Many of them are run by volunteers, with many of the groups meeting on a monthly basis during the evening.

If your main interaction with WordPress is through the admin console, if it’s something that you install and configure rather than build then this meetup probably isn’t for you.
If on the other hand you relish the thought of getting stuck into writing some PHP code, you can handle using the theme editor on a live site as an option, or the thought of managing your own servers isn’t terrifying, then you’ve probably come to the right place.
