CTO and partner at Yoast, passionate about JavaScript and WordPress, M.A. Philosophy. Selectively interested in everything. Open source is the answer.

I joined team Yoast in september 2014 as a software architect and quickly became responsible for professionalizing the development processes. As Partner and CTO I focus on the bigger picture of software development, working together with a great team of skilled software engineers. I also spend a lot of time contributing back to WordPress, preferably by sharing my thoughts on software architecture and the development process.

WordPress Origin Story

I entered the WordPress community through my work at Yoast. At first I didn’t entirely feel at home. This changed after I visited the first WordCamp Torino in 2016 where I met the Italian WordPress community. I was blown away by their energy and enthusiasm and really found a home within WordPress (Ciao Francesca, Giustino, Luca, Cristiano, Antonio, Andrea, Franz, Dennis and many others!). Since then, I try to visit at least one Italian WordCamp every year. I kept making friends (also outside of Italy) and became an active contributor to WordPress. My favorite channel on WordPress Slack is #core-js.
