This is great news! It would be interesting to see if we save money with stripe.
Awesome work 💪👏 Congrats everyone 👍
Woohoo great work @coreymckrill and the rest of the team.
Hooray! Thanks, team, for all your work on this. 😄
nice work @coreymckrill !!!!
Awesome 🙂 thank you all 🖖
Stripe checkout experience is an absolute bliss! Kudos to everyone involved! ♥️
Awesome! Nice work from the whole team, you are all amazing <3
Great to see the Stripe service. Will we be soon offering national payment methods (iDeal, Mr Cash and Giropay) that are supported by Stripe as well? I know there are still people around who don’t have credit cards but only a bank card. Would be nice if we could offer those national payment methods as well, people keep asking why we only offer Paypal and/or credit cards and not the national payment method. It shouldn’t be too difficult now Stripe is the default payment gateway.
@vertizio Good question. The Stripe integration that is built into CampTix does not currently use Stripe’s Sources API, which is required for accepting payment methods such as iDEAL and Giropay. Between the current Stripe credit card processing and PayPal (which can be linked to bank accounts), we’re able to accept payments from most people in most places that WordCamps are happening, so there aren’t any plans at this point to add more payment methods to the core CampTix plugin.
However, as has happened in the past for country-specific payment methods such as Instamojo and Razorpay in India, it’s possible to add more payment methods to CampTix via a separate plugin. If someone in the community wants to build a plugin for iDEAL (or perhaps one for the Sources API that could include several of these country-specific payment methods), it could certainly be added to the WordCamp.org network, and I agree that it would be a nice addition for people without credit cards.
Three cheers! So happy to come back and see this implemented!
