Bio

Currently: Vice President of Experience Design at 10up.I am a designer and leader of remote teams with over ten years running distributed agencies. I’ve been using WordPress for 12 years to help companies and people capitalize on the opportunities afforded by open-source software.

WordPress Origin Story

I began building church websites and dabbling in various content management systems and tools. Over time, I found that WordPress was the fastest and easiest to use. I began creating WordPress themes and partnered with Smashing Magazine and other popular design blogs to share them with the community. They became a “smashing” success. I later opened up a small UX and design agency with a business partner. We worked with large and small clients around the world. Our crowning achievement was receiving two Emmy award nominations for WordPress projects The Walking Dead: Story Sync and Mad Men: The Fan Cut. We pioneered second screen apps in their early days, all using WordPress as the platform. Today, I work at 10up leading a team of designers delivering world-class design to our clients and their audiences.
