WordPress 5.4 ready to be translated

WordPress 5.4, planned for March 31, 2020, is now ready to be translated on translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins.!

The stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. are in the development projects. The strings for WordPress 5.3 have been moved to projects/wp/5.3.x.

Notification to language team: TagTag Tag is one of the pre-defined taxonomies in WordPress. Users can add tags to their WordPress posts along with categories. However, while a category may cover a broad range of topics, tags are smaller in scope and focused to specific topics. The concept does take a while to get your head around but ultimately does make sense.

There’s no hard limit number. If you translate 2 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. really well, that each consists of 100 words, then you’re good to go.
If you translate: Yes, No, Black, White, Continue… then you should do a few more 🙂

When I look at it, I can’t see any wrong things now.
Perhaps something got stuck if you happened to do several commits in short succession after each other.
Perhaps you can try and do some small commit (perhaps just adding/editing a comment) in order to try the scan for stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. once more.

By the way: It’s totally OK to use only trunk (and in trunk/readme declare stable:trunk); You don’t have to build directories under tags, unless you want to.

Also: The translation platform scan automatically your code for strings in translation functions. The POT filePOT file POT files are the template files for PO files. They will have all the translation strings left empty. A POT file is essentially an empty PO file without the translations, with just the original strings. you create is ignored.

I tried to generate a local .pot file using WP-CLIWP-CLI WP-CLI is the Command Line Interface for WordPress, used to do administrative and development tasks in a programmatic way. I noted that file size of vendor.js file inside build directory is 19 MB. I temporary deleted this file and try to regenerate again the .pot file and works.

Do you think maybe the file size of this vendor.js is the origin of issue?

When you tagged 3.19, three days ago, only trunk was imported. Perhaps you need to revisit exactly what commands you use in which order with SVNSVN Apache Subversion (often abbreviated SVN, after its command name svn) is a software versioning and revision control system.
