Bio

I’m a software architect and manager of DevOps at Yoast. I work on both our SEO plugins as well as everything yoast.com.

My main passions are creating beautiful performant code and teaching others how to do so. Especially if that code can then open up technologies for a much wider audience.

To relax I love to play video games, the more complex and strategic the better, or simply to watch some series with my girlfriend. I’m also an avid cyclist and cycle to work every single day and have cycled almost the entire eastern coast of the UK during my vacations, from Kirkwall to Harwich.

WordPress Origin Story

I first encountered WordPress as a Ruby developer creating integrations to so users of our applications could login using their account from their company WordPress site.

Afterwards I’ve used to quickly create a few sites here and there but it wasn’t until Yoast that I really got involved. In the past years I’ve come to love the amazing set of features WordPress provides and have become increasingly familiar with it’s codebase.
