Il Classic Editor è un plugin ufficiale gestito dal Team dei Contributori di WordPress che ripristina l’editor precedente del core (definito “classico” per convenzione) e la schermata “Modifica Articolo”. Rende anche possibile il riutilizzo dei plugin (add-on) che estendono questa schermata, aggiungendo i “Meta Box” di stile precedente, o che da questo dipendono in qualche modo.

Il Classic Editor è un plugin ufficiale per WordPress che sarà completamente supportato, e mantenuto, fino al 2022, o fino a quando sarà necessario (anche dopo il 2022).

A colpo d’occhio, questo plugin aggiunge quanto segue:

  • Gli amministratori possono selezionare l’editor predefinito per tutti gli utenti.
  • Gli amministratori possono consentire agli utenti di modificare il loro editor predefinito.
  • Gli utenti possono scegliere quale editor predefinito utilizzare durante l’editing per ogni articolo, pagina, o tipo di post. In un ambiente multisite, o in un ambiente stand-alone questa scelta è possibile solo se consentita dall’amministratore, e l’utente può cambiarla dalla schermata del suo profilo.
  • Ogni articolo che viene creato o modificato da un qualsiasi utente si apre automaticamente nell’ultimo editor che è stato utilizzato per l’editing indipendentemente da chi lo ha modificato per ultimo. Questo è importante per mantenere un’esperienza coerente durante la modifica del contenuto.

Il Classic Editor include diversi filtri che consentono anche ad altri add-on o plugin di controllarne le impostazioni e la scelta dell’editor predefinito.

Per impostazione predefinita, questo plugin nasconde tutte le funzionalità disponibili nel nuovo Block Editor (aka Gutenberg).

  • Impostazioni di Amministrazione -> Impostazioni -> Scrittura
  • Impostazioni utente nella schermata profilo. Visibile solo quando gli utenti sono autorizzati a cambiare editor, ad esempio per utenti senza capacità di Editing o di Gestione delle Opzioni, oppure in ambienti multisito (multisite).
  • "Link di Azione" (action link) per scegliere un editor alternativo. Visibile solo quando gli utenti sono autorizzati a cambiare editor, ad esempio per utenti senza capacità di Editing o di Gestione delle Opzioni, oppure in ambienti multisito (multisite).
  • Link per passare al Block Editor durante la modifica di un articolo nel Classic Editor. Visibile solo quando gli utenti sono autorizzati a cambiare editor, ad esempio per utenti senza capacità di Editing o di Gestione delle Opzioni, oppure in ambienti multisito (multisite).
  • Link per passare al Classic Editor durante la modifica di un articolo nel Block Editor. Visibile solo quando gli utenti sono autorizzati a cambiare editor, ad esempio per utenti senza capacità di Editing o di Gestione delle Opzioni, oppure in ambienti multisito (multisite).
  • Impostazioni di rete per selezionare l'editor predefinito per il network e consentire ai super amministratori e/o amministratori di cambiarlo/gestirlo.
  • Il link "Passa al Classic Editor".

FAQ

Impostazioni predefinite

Abilita il Classic Editor e il layout di stile precedente della schermata di modifica TinyMCE supportando i Meta Box (con tutte le altre funzioni correlate), ed i vecchi plugin (o add-on) che ne estendono questa funzionalità e l’editing classico del core, ma non sono compatibili con il nuovo Block Editor (nome in codice Gutenberg) di WordPress 5.0+

Impostazioni predefinite per l’installazione come Network Multisito

Ci sono due opzioni:

  • Quando viene attivato nel network questo plugin imposta il classic Editor come predefinito ed impedisce agli amministratori (ma non ai super amministratori) e agli altri utenti di cambiare editor.
    Le impostazioni possono essere modificate e l’editor del network può essere selezionato dalla schermata impostazioni di rete.
  • Quando non sono attivati nel network (network-activated) ciascun auper amministratore e/o amministratore sarà in grado di attivare il plugin e sceglierne le opzioni predefinite da proporre ai i propri utenti.

Absolutey a sanity saver

I simply cannot get used to the new Gutenberg editor and this saves my sanity. I only just realized you cannot upload PDF files which I needed to do for the minutes of a meeting. The classic editor allowed me to do this just like before.

even if you are new to wordpress you need this.

today i decided to given Gutenberg a try on one my projects. 1 hour later and doing some thinking and fiddling. if your website contains hundreds of posts and custom fields to manage Gutenberg is simply NOT a good option for you because converting your content to make it compatible. and even you are using a new install of wordpress chances you are using a theme that does not necessarily fully support the new editor.

Hi, I just wanna say thanks to you, i still remember when i update my wordpress to new version i can't add new posts with new method, and you came up with this plugin.
