Bio

I believe in supporting the community and working together to make the world better and more inclusive for everyone. I have worked in medicine, occupational therapy and healthcare in my life. I enjoy engineering and making things. I love maths and building things. I went to evening class to learn computer programming after I had children. I showed my children and friends how to do fun things with programs and when my daughter started building websites for artists, I wanted to know how to do this too. I enjoy art and I have done design.

WordPress Origin Story

I was asked to help the community by Abha and later on by Raffaella. I was translating in many languages for WordPress translation day and helped with my husband, who also wrote for journals, on articles for this. I have helped interview people for features and explain how to translate for sense and not just word for word where reader may get lost. I have been a member of many international societies.

I help with my husband, on the WordPress Marketing Team too. I got to meet the European organisers on video call after their event. This was very nice.

My son has been able to help on some projects with the help of the Belfast team and Yoast. My daughter is very involved in WordPress and her work in technology too.
